BexarMet Dissolution finally approved by TCEQ on May 30, 2012

On May 30, 2012, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality approved the final dissolution of the Bexar Metropolitan Water District (BexarMet). In November 2011, 74 percent of BexarMet ratepayers voted to dissolve the utility and consolidate it into SAWS. Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Justice cleared November’s election results, allowing dissolution of BexarMet to move forward. With the TCEQ's action, the former BexarMet district is completely dissolved, with SAWS managing all assets and liabilities.
