I have decided to seek a second term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cadillac Water Corporation. My first year on the Board has flown-by, and I'm excited about the prospect of a second term. The corporation has 63 shareholders, and serves as the water utility for the Shearer Oaks subdivision in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. The utility provides service through a single Edwards Aquifer Well situated on Cadillac Drive.
As a practicing water and water rights lawyer, and attorney for several water utilities throughout Texas (and their boards), I believe that I bring a unique perspective and degree of expertise to the Cadillac Water Corporation's board.
It has been said "Whiskey is for drinking and water is for fightin." In Texas, water is our most valuable resource, and has become increasingly scarce with our State's population explosion. Naturally, ownership, control and use of water carry tremendous legal and financial implications. Meanwhile, multiple layers of governmental regulation have made acquisition, development, use, marketing, and transmission of water in Texas increasingly complex. This site contains the musings of a water lawyer.
