The Lower Colorado River Authority board's plans to pump billions of gallons of water out of Milam County aren't going to be as easy to execute as the press releases suggest.
As a Milam County landowner, I can tell you Milam County residents are aware of the keen interest that water marketers have in the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer under our county. And LCRA's plans to export up to 45,000 acre-feet/year of Carrizo-Wilcox groundwater from our county are of concern.
